What if midlife isn't the crisis society tells us; but rather the beginning of finding your fire?
In this powerful conversation, I’m joined by Dr. Kelly Barron, founder of Tempesta and the Dr. KellFire show. She's a Chiropractor, Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Menopause Specialist, Sexual Health Alliance Coaching Candidate, and fierce advocate for women reclaiming their sexuality in midlife.
Together, we explore what happens when women stop trying to “get back” to who they were in their twenties… and instead discover a fire they may never have known.
Kelly shares her extraordinary journey, from surviving a violent assault to becoming a champion powerlifter, MMA fighter, and leader in menopause and sexual health. Her story is one of resilience, reinvention, and radical self-ownership. But what moves me most in our conversation is her unwavering devotion to helping women understand this truth:
Midlife is not the end. It is your peak.
We speak honestly about:
The medical gaslighting so many women experience in perimenopause and menopause
Pelvic health, libido changes, GSM, and why “use it or lose it” matters
The performative sexuality many of us were conditioned into, and how to unlearn it
Why communication (with yourself and your partner) is everything
The evolutionary power of menopause
Reclaiming pleasure as a portal back to your feminine energy
Falling in love with yourself as your first love relationship.
We also dive into ritual, nervous system regulation, sisterhood, and why gathering together in community is medicine.
If you’ve ever felt flat, lost, invisible, or disconnected from your body,
If you’ve wondered where your libido went, or even if you ever truly claimed it,
This episode is for you.
Because the truth is: your sexuality is not something you outgrow. It is something you grow into.
And midlife might just be the most exquisite chapter yet.

Welcome to Season Two of The Ecology of Intimacy.
We’re kicking off 2026, the Chinese Year of the Fire Horse, with an invitation into movement, change, courage, and aliveness.
Intimacy, like life itself, is always changing. Our bodies, desires, relationships, nervous systems, and erotic lives are constantly evolving, and this conversation is about learning how to ride those waves rather than resist them.
I’m joined by Trauma-informed, Sexuality Coach Megan Millington, whose work in erotic re-patterning is helping women and men reclaim pleasure, safety, and deep intimacy from the inside out. Together, we explore why so many women experience low libido, numbness, disconnection, or shame and what lies underneath those layers.
We talk about how early experiences, trauma, stress, motherhood, religious conditioning, medicalised sexuality, and cultural myths all shape our understanding of desire. And Megan shares her own journey from believing she was broken, even asexual, to discovering that her body was simply protecting itself.
At the heart of this conversation is a powerful truth: desire returns when safety is restored.
We explore:
Why low libido is often a nervous system response, not a diagnosis
How emotional, somatic, spiritual, and energetic safety impact arousal and orgasm
The myth of performative, intercourse-based sex and the orgasm gap
Why pleasure is not frivolous but a powerful technology for healing and regulation
How intimacy can be woven into everyday life, even during exhaustion, parenting, grief, or change
Why you're not broken and how your body is deeply intelligent
This episode invites you to question the sexual narratives you’ve inherited, and begin rebuilding intimacy in a way that honours your body’s timing, wisdom, and truth.

As we come to the close of Season One of The Ecology of Intimacy podcast, I wanted to pause, reflect, and say a heartfelt thank you for being a part of this journey with me. This episode is both a love letter and a deep exhale. It’s a celebration of the conversations we’ve shared about sexuality, intimacy, pleasure, women’s bodies, relationships, and what it truly means to feel alive in ourselves and to give ourselves permission for pleasure.
To close out 2025, I’m sharing highlights from two of our most-loved, most-downloaded conversations. First, Somatic Sex Expert Susan Morgan Taylor unravels the deeply ingrained myth of “low libido” in women. We explore why so many women are mislabeled, misunderstood, and pathologised, and how education, embodiment, and somatic sexuality can radically transform desire, orgasm, and connection.
Then, the Incredible Intimacy Expert Lauren Elise Rogers brings us into a tender, revolutionary conversation about body criticism, self-permission, and pleasure. We explore how the way we speak to ourselves, especially about our bodies, directly impacts our ability to feel desire, intimacy, and orgasmic aliveness. Her message is clear and deeply reassuring: you are not broken, the sexual scripts are.
This episode is an invitation to soften, to unlearn, to remember, and to step into a more pleasure-filled, deeply embodied relationship with yourself and with your life.
As we prepare for Season Two in early 2026, my hope is that these reflections nourish you, inspire you, and remind you why your intimacy matters. Thank you for walking this path with me. I’m so grateful you’re here.
Season 2 begins January 2026

Wow, this conversation completely shifted how I think about marriage and relationships. You know how we're always told that marriage is all about compromise? Well, what if I told you that's actually terrible advice and it's been keeping you stuck?
Today I'm speaking with Monica Tanner, an incredible Relational Life Therapy trained Relationship Coach who literally wrote the book on Bad Marriage Advice (and yes, that's the actual title!), and she absolutely blew my mind. We dove deep into why so much of the traditional wisdom we've been taught about relationships is actually sabotaging our happiness.
And what hit me hardest: was how we've been sold the idea that marriage or any successful long term relationship is all about compromise, but that compromise actually makes us start to silently keep score of who gave up what. So Monica introduces this beautiful concept of collaboration instead of compromise. It's about getting what she calls compassionately curious about what matters to you AND what matters to your partner, and WHY, and then using that to create something even better together.
We also talked about how we can approach extended family dynamics as the holidays approach, you know that feeling of dread mixed with excitement? That pull back into old family dynamics and the stress so many of us feel at a time of year that's meant to be joyful? Monica helped me understand why that happens and, more importantly, how to navigate it without losing yourself or your relationship in the process.
But what's really stayed with me was this idea that our inner children are often running the show in our relationships. All those adaptations and coping mechanisms we created as kids to survive? They're still playing out in our relationships as adults, our communication patterns, our fights over things like Costco receipts (yes, we went there!). But the beautiful part is that once we understand this, we can start to heal and make different choices and begin to shift the patterns that have kept us stuck.
This conversation reminded me that nothing has gone wrong when relationships feels hard, it's just that it's time to grow. So if you've been feeling stuck, or like you’re more roommates than lovers, if you're navigating those tricky family dynamics or just wondering how to communicate without everything turning into a battle, this episode is for you.
My intention for this episode is that is supports you to navigate the coming holidays and festive season with less stress, and relational triggers, and with more ease and grace. Enjoy.

Join me in this powerful conversation with Dr. Regina Lark about the invisible work that keeps all our homes and lives running, but that ultimately leaves us completely exhausted.
In this episode, we dive deep into emotional labor, and the mental load, and why as women, we're constantly doing the behind-the-scenes work that no one sees or values.
Dr Regina has a PhD in women's history and runs a professional organizing and move management company, and she brings a refreshing perspective on the work of household management, decluttering, and the cognitive skills required to keep everything together and running smoothly.
We talk about the reality of being the "default parent," the one who's always doing the mental math (like figuring out if we need to to feed the kids by 5:30pm so we can get to the sitter by 6pm so we can make it to that 7pm concert). Sound familiar? Yeah, me too!
Regina explains how the work we do at home requires the exact same executive function skills that professionals use in the workplace and that business leaders require to succeed, skills like; planning, processing, sequencing, time management. Yet somehow when we're doing it at home, it's dismissed as "just women's work" or a "labor of love" instead of being recognized as the actual labor and never-ending workload that it is.
We also get into ADHD in women, chronic disorganization, and why so many of us are just now discovering we've been struggling with executive function challenges our whole lives.
If you've ever felt overwhelmed by clutter, asked permission to throw something away, or wondered why your partner doesn't just see what needs to be done, then this conversation is for you.
Regina introduces the concept of radical delegation and shares the game-changing Fair Play method (with actual playing cards!) that helps couples divide household responsibilities equitably. And makes the invisible work we all do, so much more visible.
We talk about weaponized incompetence, the dreaded "how can I help?" question, and practical ways to create a household where everyone actually wants to live.
This isn't just about organizing your home, it's about re-organizing your life, setting boundaries, asking for help, and recognizing that you deserve support with the enormous amount of work required to keep a house running, the very work that holds the entire fabric of our society together!
So whether you're a working mom, managing a household solo, or trying to balance career and family, this conversation will make you feel seen and give you tools to create real change. Join me for this honest, compassionate discussion about women's work, gender equity, household equity, and what it really takes to lighten the load we've been carrying for far too long.

This episode is a fiery, truth-telling conversation on the four true phases of a woman’s life:
Child/Maiden,
Mother/Creatrix,
Maga/Healer, and
Wise Woman/Crone.
And how patriarchal culture’s obsession with youth keeps women disconnected from their real power. We unpack how to reclaim every stage of your life as sacred, to honour your desires as your soul’s GPS, and step fully into your creative, erotic, and spiritual potency at any age. Leaving behind what no longer serves you, and claiming the power that's always been yours.
It’s raw, real, and a radical reclamation of womanhood beyond the patriarchy’s script.
So often we’re told there are only two stages in a woman’s life; young and old. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Each stage of our life cycle carries its own gifts, power, and sacred purpose. From the innocence and exploration of the Maiden years, to the creative fire and mastery of Motherhood and Creatrix, through the potent healing and truth-telling of the Midlife Maga and Healer, and into the deep wisdom and spiritual power of the Wise Woman and Crone; each phase is a portal into greater wholeness. Each cycle carries the stories of our ancestors and the lineage of women's wisdom that we feel in our bones, that we all know in our quieter moments.
This is a tender, fierce, and deeply affirming episode. It's my love letter to every woman who’s ever felt unseen, stuck, or disconnected from her changing body and evolving self.
My hope is that you walk away remembering just how extraordinary, powerful, and necessary you are: in every season of your life!

Join me in this juicy and deeply honest conversation with the brilliant British-Irish Writer, Author, and Sexuality Advocate, Tash Doherty.
Together we talk about pubic hair, alchemising shame, and the radical act of embracing our bodies, voices, and sensuality in a world that still teaches women to shrink, hide, and self-censor.
From exploring inner child work and sexual conditioning to celebrating some of the most incredible poetry as a gateway to sensual expression, Tash shares her story of breaking free from the prim and proper confines of elite schooling, rediscovering her rebellious creative voice, and writing her debut novel These Perfectly Careless Things. The conversation dives into self-compassion, body acceptance, and how writing and journaling can become tools for erotic healing and self-discovery.
If you’re ready to heal some shame and explore your sexuality in a deeply honest way, I invite you to join us in this lively discussion where we reveal Tash’s latest offering; the upcoming Intimacy Journal: A Journey of Sensuality, Sex, and Self.

If you’ve ever found yourself performing your pleasure instead of fully feeling it, this episode is your wake-up call.
Today, I’m inviting you into a deeply honest conversation about orgasmic equality and the truth of women’s pleasure. Drawing inspiration from Dr. Laurie Mintz’s groundbreaking book Becoming Cliterate, we’ll explore why the “orgasm gap” isn’t a personal problem, it’s a cultural conditioning that teaches women to perform pleasure instead of embodying it.
Join me as I unpack how understanding your own arousal system, anatomy, and nervous system can completely transform your relationship with your body and your experience of intimacy and connection.
You’ll learn how orgasm equality is not just about pleasure, it’s the very foundation of personal, creative, emotional, and even economic empowerment.
So if you’re ready to stop faking it, in bed and in life, and start living from your most embodied, turned-on truth, pour yourself a cup of tea, and get comfortable and let's get to it!

So many of us grew up in families where our emotional expression was stifled or invalidated, and those formative experiences often play themselves out in our adult relationships and the ways we navigate (or avoid) conflict.
Most couples will have the same fight over and over again, whether it’s the dishes in the sink, stress about finances, sex, or lack of time together. But what if those recurring conflicts aren’t about what we say they are, but instead the need for something deeper? What if they’re actually invitations to heal old wounds and deepen our intimate connection?
Join me in this episode as I unpack why conflict is not only healthy, but necessary in relationships, and how our nervous systems interpret disagreements as threats based on childhood conditioning.
I share a simple but transformative practice of active listening that will allow you to get underneath the surface of any argument you may be having, and help you to uncover what’s really going on. Practicing this skill will help you to connect with your partner in ways that feel profoundly healing for both of you.
You’ll learn:
Why we repeat the same arguments in relationships
How childhood experiences shape the way we handle conflict
A step-by-step tool for listening that shifts fights into connection
The powerful phrase that can dissolve defensiveness and open intimacy
If you’ve ever felt stuck having the same fights with your partner, this episode will give you a roadmap to move from frustration into deeper connection, intimacy, and genuine understanding.

If you've ever found yourself living a life that ticks all the boxes on the outside, but still feel like something's missing, then this conversation's for you.
Today I'm speaking with the incredible Somatic Love Coach Manjit Khalsa, and honestly, this conversation moved me to tears and also into deep joy and recognition of so much truth. Manjit is here to speak about love, and all the ways we search for love, need love, seek love, and how we can open into finding love especially as we move through major life transitions such as divorce, or going against cultural or societal expectations.
Manjit shares so vulnerably and courageously her own journey from fulfilling all the cultural expectations of her deeply traditional community, achieving all the professional accolades, getting married, and getting the house, while simultaneously finding herself depressed and unwell with an autoimmune illness. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, she walked through the fire of divorce and left everything she had known behind and stepped into a profound and life-changing journey of discovering herself, her desires, self-love, and sovereignty.
Together, we discuss what it truly means to choose yourself, trust your desires as your own internal compass, and to embody love as a lived experience and expression, beyond definitions, boxes, and societal expectations.
This episode is an invitation to remember your own inherent wholeness, to open and soften into receiving, and rediscover love in its most radical form: within yourself.

Ever feel like you’re faking it, even when you know you’re capable, qualified, and accomplished? You’re not alone.
In this episode, we’ll explore the deeper roots of imposter syndrome and why so many women struggle with it, especially when we dare to step outside the status quo and create a life on our own terms.
You’ll discover how disconnection from your body, your desires, and your inner wisdom fuels self-doubt, perfectionism, and the “never enough” mindset. And more importantly, you’ll learn how to begin unraveling that conditioning so you can step back into your worthiness, your power, and your joy.
This isn’t about hustling harder or proving yourself. It’s about remembering that you're inherently deserving, even when you’re resting, creating, laughing, and especially when you're simply being.
You’ll be invited to reframe imposter syndrome not as a setback, but as an invitation to come home to yourself.
If you’ve ever wondered “Who am I to do this?” then this conversation is for you.

This episode is everything for anyone who's ever been labelled as the 'low-libido' partner, or who's in a relationship where there's mismatched libidos causing havoc.
Join me as I sit down with renowned Somatic Sex Therapist Susan Morgan Taylor, who has helped hundreds of couples deepen the intimate connections and create mutually satisfying sex and intimacy for the long term.
Susan shares her personal journey from a sexless marriage to a profound awakening of her own orgasmic potential, and how that's inspired her to help women around the world to experience their own sexual awakening through creating the incredible Pleasure Keys process.
Together, we unpack the persistent myths around women’s libido and sex drive, the difference between climax and orgasm, and why redefining sex as connection can change not only our relationships, but our entire lives.
Susan believes we can change the world by how we have sex, make love, and that our intimate relationships are the most direct opportunity for personal growth and healing. Because how we show up intimately and sexually is really reflective of how we connect with all of life and how we connect with others, and ultimately with ourselves.
If you’ve ever felt like intimacy was out of reach or struggled with low sex drive or mismatched libidos, this conversation is truly a gift.

Rikki shares her journey from being a Dancer to becoming a Naked Yoga and Naked Awakening Retreats Facilitator, Sex, Love and Relationship Coach, and Embodiment Mentor. In this deeply personal conversation, Rikki explores how heartbreak, societal conditioning, and years of performance-based living and loving led her to reconnect with her body, alchemise sexual shame, and embrace body-based liberation.
Discover how her workshops create safe, sacred, and shame-free spaces where participants can explore nudity, presence, and self-expression in a non-sexualized, and truly heart healing way. Rikki also shares insights on listening to your body, navigating intimacy and relationships, and reclaiming pleasure, confidence, and personal boundaries.

What if your body & your sexuality were never broken, but sacred all along? ✨
Today I’m speaking with Lauren Elise Rogers, a Holistic Sexuality Educator and Embodied Intimacy and Relationship Coach. And honestly, having this conversation felt like sitting down with a dear friend who finally said out loud so many things we’ve all thought but never spoken.
Lauren shares her story of growing up in purity culture, marrying young, and then finding herself in a sexless, confusing marriage that was shrouded in silence. I could feel that ache when she described thinking “something must be wrong with me”, because at some point, haven’t we all been there in some form or another?
What really struck me however, was the turning point in her life, when through the support of a dear friend, she realized she had a choice to make. And that moment of stepping into her agency, of reclaiming her voice, her body, her desires; that moment was both terrifying and liberating at the same time. Lauren lost her marriage, her faith community, her sense of belonging, and yet, in the middle of all that rubble, she discovered something extraordinary: her own self-trust. And like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, she transformed her life from pain to power.
Now Lauren helps women all around the world to release shame, remember their wholeness, and reclaim the sacred connection between pleasure, spirit, and self-trust.
Together, we explore how to invite more joy and embodiment into everyday life, whether through small acts of comfort, moments of beauty, or finally granting ourselves permission to desire and orient to pleasure.
So, if you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body, questioned your worth, or longed for deeper intimacy, this episode will feel like both a mirror and a gentle hand to hold. It’s an empowering reminder that you are not broken, and that true pleasure, freedom, and self-trust are yours to claim.
